All About Family

My eldest, Sarah, is with husband Manolo and daughter Anais are with their Spanish side of the family in Madrid. Luis, working in the hospitality industry, is with his girlfriend Fran in Plymouth - “Feliz Navidad”.
My eldest son Barry is with his wife Janette and daughters Chloe and Freya at home in London - “Happy Christmas”.
At home I am with Mrs S, Samantha, Joshua and Tiana along with Paddy and Karla - “Happy Christmas”.

It has been a great day, spent with family, plenty of good food, a gin & tonic or three, a dining table full of snacks and a lot of help in the aftermath clear up.
Gift wise I am blessed, lots of gifts, thoughtful ones, useful ones, interesting ones, funny ones, all appreciated, all cherished.

But today it’s all about family, being surrounded by half my family, messages from the other half, social media catch ups with extended family and with my Aunt Vi, the only relative left on either side of my parents families from their generation.
Tired, of course, cooking, lunch, gift exchange all take it out of you so in my armchair in its temporary position, back to the TV, I managed a two hour ‘battle nap’ which left me refreshed for the evening.

It was a long day but a thoroughly enjoyable day.
