Its been a couple of frustrating weeks since I got my new camera. Firstly, I was off on holiday with the new toy left at home because of its size, then it was the weather - constant grey skies, rain , cold and windy - which was not exactly ideal for the land and seascapes I love.
Today started equally badly, although I did get my run down to the beach before the heavy rain came on. At least it provided an excuse for sitting with the feet up reading the Sunday papers and even managing a wee nap in the afternoon. When I woke from my slumbers it was dry and the sun was threatening to come out. Could this be my chance to get the new camera out for a serious play on the shore line? Off I headed with camera and tripod ready for any eventuality. I was really wanting to do some long exposure shots of moving water. First I tried to capture the waves but the light was awful. Then I settled on a little stream of water coming off the hillside and got tripod and camera set up. Just as I was about to take my first shot the rain came on and it was a quick dismantle of equipment to get it under the shelter of my jacket before heading for home.
Fortunately, I had taken a few blips on my way down to the beach and on review settled on this one. It was the only blue sky we saw all day. I love the view looking back towards our house, particularly when there are boats in the foreground. Still a bit on the cold side so we will probably wait until the beginning of June before getting out own wee boat onto its mooring!
