Twas the night after, the night after Christmas
When all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse
The in-laws were being driven back home in the car
The daughter was meeting some friends from afar

And I in my night gown at home all alone
Some soup, a cracker and whisky to cheer
To toast a good effort with plenty of glee
No waste left to speak of or none I can see.

Cheers
