Day 362/22. A map with significance.

To me, this is one of the most interesting exhibits we have at the aircraft museum.
It is an German invasion planning map of Southampton discovered in Berlin after the war.
It shows the strategic sites that would need guarding after the German  invasion. Bridges, Hospitals, Public Buildings and the Airport are all marked.
Originally procuded by the British Ordnance Survey, the map was overprinted by the German authorities.
It does show how close the war was to a different ending.
