Painted Bunting

Sometimes called the 'Nonpareil,' meaning 'unrivaled,' a fair way to describe the unbelievable colors of the male Painted Bunting. This species is locally common in the Southeastern United States, but an uncommon visitor to our area. It was a real treat to see this bird in Cape May today.
