Patina
I had a fantastic walk this morning, taking Hollie dog along a section of the Three Castles Walk in Corvedale, to visit and explore the environs of Munslow village and the church.
I can't get enough of these quaint and historic little Shropshire villages. And the churches are often the hub, having historic architecture and artifacts going back to medieval times.
St Michael's in Munslow dates from Norman times and has many later editions to the exterior and interior. The iron work on the doors is thought to be from the 14th or 15th century, so this amazing door furniture is possibly over 500 years old.
I love old knockers.
The hinges are equally impressive and the skill of the smiths who forged and hammered this ironwork is wonderful.
Back home to clean the dog off and light the fire.
Settle down to an evening of TV. Its quizzy Monday and we will be shouting out the answers to questions in House of Games, Mastermind and Unversity Challenge.
Living life on the edge and growing old disgracefully!
