Boxing Day walk
The MInx, her mum, the miniMinx, and Milly all set off for various locations, this morning, leaving six of us to go for a Boxing Day walk. Except Charlie had arranged to have coffee with the mum of one of her friends, so in the end it was me, Hannah, Abi, Izzy, and Dan who parked up at the Barbon Inn and walked up to the beck.
Frankly, I made the wrong call on my outerwear, not bothering with a coat, but I was just about warm enough, except during the sporadic bursts of hail.
It's a great walk, though, and one of my favourite runs. Speaking of which... because of my knee problem, I've only run about thirty times, this year, which is maybe a quarter of what I'd normally do. It does seem better now, though, so I'm going to start again in earnest when we get back from Scotland.
Anyway, back to today, and after our walk, we met up with Charlie and proceeded into the Barbon Inn, which was, unfortunately, absolutely packed. Having decided that we'd find a pub in Kirkby instead, we turned to leave, only to be stopped by the landlady who was sure she could find us a table, and indeed she did. First class customer service!
