Backblip
The last morning was spent visiting the nearby fishing village of Camara de Lobos.  All week the sea had been very rough with waves which were apparently 4 to 5 metres high with parts of the seaside walks being cordoned off.  Here enormous waves can be seen battering over the rocks sending water high up on the cliffs.  Visitors who had often been to Madeira said the weather had been the worst they had ever seen with rain and high winds and very little sunshine but at least it was considerably warmer than Britain with its freezing temperatures and for us it was pleasant to see a new area.
