Acts of deliberate notice

Arbor Low

We returned home today - a successful trip that took around six hours. On the way we stopped off at Arbor Low Henge, a 4000-year-old stone circle with a commanding view of the surrounding Peaks.

It gives me such a tingly feeling to know I am standing in a place built by people so long ago, that has been known and grazed and used and admired for millennia.

As we were walking up the hill to the stone circle the sun was shining just perfectly through one entranceway, and with the fast-approaching rainclouds behind us we were greeted by a rainbow. A good omen for New Year's Day if ever there was one.
