Apologies …
… for forgetting to say a heartfelt “thank you” for all the stars, hearts and lovely comments on my Blip birthday. They are all very much appreciated.
We actually went walking with a few members of our Tuesday morning walking group this morning, although it doesn’t start back officially until the 10th, which is also when our Auckland Joggers walking group returns.
Back home MrMacD spent the day preparing his sourdough and shaping the loaves ready to bake in the morning. I checked out recipes for using the ricotta I made yesterday, then spent the afternoon catching up on some computer work that’s been neglected over the last month. It was a relief to get it done. I cooked a one-pan pasta dish with garlic, spices, kale, crushed tomatoes, preserved lime and various bits and pieces thrown in, then ricotta, Parmesan, parsley and mint mixed in at the end. MrMacD thought it was delicious. Tomorrow I think I’ll make ricotta gnocchi. Usually Mr MacD cooks, so it was rather nice for me to have a turn.
It’s been cooler again, but the forecast rain didn’t eventuate - at least not in St Heliers. It did, however, stop play yesterday and today in the ASB Classic tennis tournament. The forecast is still for rain - lots of it - and very strong winds. It could be an indoor day tomorrow if it eventuates.
A lot of scaffolding was installed at the house next door some time ago to enable it to be painted. However, the scaffolders have spent several days erecting more scaffolding right up above the top of the roof. MrMacD managed to ascertain that the cement work beneath the tiles needs to be replaced. At least that’s what he thinks they said. I thought it would make a good blip.
