About to go into hibernation!
Today I have started to take down all the Christmas cards and decorations. This is our collection of ‘animals’ which all need batteries and play a Christmas song when the pad is pressed plus move around in some way, flapping ears, twirling around, rolling over etc! No new ones this year and these have been collected over many years from Great Mills, Homebase and B and Q. I only buy ones which play a recognisable Christmas song eg ‘ Jingle Bell Rock’ , ‘ Rocking around the Christmas Tree’ etc. A couple are at least 10 years old. Children ‘ of all ages’ do like them even if they are a bit silly. Our grandchildren like dancing along to the music.
The batteries have been taken about and now they will go back in boxes for another year.
No trains and very few buses so I had to walk a long way to get another bus to Kingston Hospital for a glaucoma check. Luckily I got there early and was seen early as several people had not showed up. No problems thankfully, just need to be monitored annually as my father had glaucoma .
Another miserable day, not cold but rain on and off and very grey too.
