Fun on the Moors
Dups and I stayed at Purbeck last night, unfortunately we could not up load our blip, so you will have go back and take a look.
Off around all different roads exploring Exmoor again, down into the Lorna Doone Valley, where we had lunch, and viewed and of course photographed The Tarr Steps. Amazing massive slabs of rocks, stretching across a river.
The weather was very changeable, still very cold and wet.
But we wanted to go back up on the Moors, where the wind and the rain really is freezing.
We were so lucky that we saw the sheep, the Highland Cattle and the Exmoor Ponies.
Dups tells me that you can tell the ponies by the lightness around their nose.
There were about 15 of them including the Stallion and about 5 foals.
The foals were having fun together, nuzzling, and kicking up their heels.
One little foal was amongst the sheep by himself, and wanted to play with them, but they would not interact with him. They were such fun to watch even though we were frozen to the bone.
The trees, the few of them, are very stunted and wind blown.
Tonight we are back in Weymouth after a great couple of days being shown around some of the territory that Dups knows. Thanks Dups. You did some great driving in our rental bubble car with no oomph, around some of those tight little lanes.
