The Moors
We left Lynmouth this morning after a hearty breakfast. Raining when we left and dull, but sometimes this works in our favour. We had a walk around the village, and then went back up on the Moors again at Exmoor. Would not have been very nice for the Golden Horse Shoes, as it was not as windy as yesterday, but very wet. We found the Highland cattle grazing at the side of the road. Don't you just love the calves fluffy bum! Would love to cuddle him.
The little lamb was looking lost up in the fog, but there were others around. Had a great lunch at an old Hotel on the Moors, and then had a walk around the forest, where there were some very old trees and the branches were covered in moss. Looked a bit like from the film of 'The Hobbits'. Found some little wild violets, but facing the wrong way for me today.
Watersmete was where we photographed the river with rocks.
The Exmoor pony was with a group of horses, but the stallion came along, and hurried them off in to the bushes!! The stand of trees were as we came down in to Porlock, where we are staying at a lovely little B&B, called 'The cottage'. We have photographed a lot of the village, it has narrow streets, like a lot of them, and the houses and shops are very very close to the road. It has a curly road as well which makes it fascinating. Some of the houses are thatched. We are just about ready to go out for our evening meal now, so will finish off.
Decided on a country theme today with wilderness rather than the village shots I had.
