The view from Waterloo Bridge

I drove up to London in the morning, because I couldn’t go by train. The friend I’m staying with lives near Finsbury Park, and as well as being a lovely place, it has awesome buses.  We got a 341 from the end of her road to Waterloo Bridge. Wandered along, then down the steps to the Southbank. The first extra is just outside the Royal Festival Hall, with the London eye in the background.  Then we walked back across the river via  Hungerford Bridge,  through a completely empty Charing Cross station, and over to Trafalgar Square. That’s the second extra, it’s so nice to have extras back; I haven’t had any since about September. I thought the tree, which, when I was a child  was such a feature of Christmas, was a bit dull - those vertical strings of lights are rather uncreative. Then from the very spot where I took the photo, we got a 29 bus all the way back to within a couple of hundred yards from where I’m staying.  Sitting upstairs in the front, a fabulous  bus ride.
