Sunny interval
We decided to go walking today and also needed birdseed so combined the 2 with a visit to the RSPB reserve.
It was windy and wet when we arrived and most of the birds in the scrapes were hiding but the the sun started breaking through so we went up the hill. There's a path over Benarty Hill to Lochore Meadows which climbs steeply to the shoulder and then less steeply down. We went up, partway down (to view in extra) and then back up, but when we were at the highest point (where there was a decorated Christmas tree) we turned off to go to the top of the hill, an extra mile each way. We had to return almost the same way before heading down the main path as the hill's sides are steep and rocky.
The hill is also known as The Sleeping Giant from its profile across Loch Leven seen here about a year ago.
Once down we had lunch in the RSPB cafe and took the scenic route home.
