Happy Hour
Oops, I’m behind again - I’ll catch up soon.
When we got up this morning all we could see was a white wall. I wasn’t sure if it was fog or rain or a combination. Despite the rain/fog MrMacD went off to the Maritime Museum as usual. He is sailing on Nautilus at the moment as the Ted Ashby needs a new part for its gearbox, and that’s been located somewhere in the UK. Nautilus can take six passengers, one crew member and a skipper. Amazingly, the Nautilus did its three scheduled trips.
Meanwhile I got on with some household chores, then went over to Mum’s apartment to help sister and brother-in-law pack up as much as we could. Everything will go into their garage until such time as it can be disposed of. We are trying to get the apartment cleared so we can hand it back to management by the end of next week.
I then caught the bus into the city to exchange a pair of summer trousers. The original ones had a small hole in one pocket, which would have quickly become a large hole. MrMacD met me at the store, then we went to Mezze for coffee. After our coffee we caught the bus back to St Heliers. We’d hardly got off the bus than the skies opened and the deluge began. We had to shelter for quite some time until the rain eased slightly and we could run across the road to La Vista for a Happy Hour drink and a small plate of arancini. La Vista was busy and we whiled away an hour before catching the bus home. Amazingly, the rain stopped and a watery sun appeared. Tomorrow could be better.
The waiter at Mezze brought our coffee on an amazing tray - such a nice touch.
