Just checking!

It was a beautiful morning, so we walked down to the Oamaru Farmers’ Market and purchased some apricots and carrots. We would have bought sausages but the butcher wasn’t there this morning, and there weren’t any onions. As it was the first Sunday of the month there was also a craft market, so we wandered amongst the stalls looking at what was on offer.  We spent a few minutes admiring some of the pieces on the leather stall, wondering whether we should take the plunge for the Steampunk Weekend, but decided they were a tad over the top for us.  Just as well because I think they would have been expensive.  They were beautifully made, though.

After lunch MrMacD went to do the shopping while I washed the apricots and carrots, and sorted the carrot tops to wash and dry ready to sauté for tonight’s supper.  I had thought I might make pesto with them, but decided to try them as a vegetable instead.  They were rather nice sautéed with garlic and mushrooms to go with the fish MrMacD brought back from the supermarket.

Having decided that the new paint on the stairs had hardened sufficiently, MrMacD put the rubber edgings on.  The stairs are now looking rather smart.  All they need now is a handrail and they’ll be complete.
