Convoy

Sunshine and showers again today.
Students are busy finalising their folios.

As I came round the corner of Sinclair Road,
onto the bottom of Greyhope Road
I was immediately faced with this image coming towards me.
So I stopped the car, grabbed my camera
and clicked off half a dozen shots over the bonnet of the car.
Not the ideal composition but too good an opportunity to miss.
The boats were literally cueing to come into the harbour,
in a line astern that swept round the harbour wall to the left and out into the bay.
Reminded me of the Bosphorus where boats pass through every 2 minutes.

The ship in the foreground is a suction dredger working on the harbour.
It is interesting to see how the wake zigzags on the way into the harbour.
Showing why you need the pilot boat to chart the path.
