Grey and wet

Poor sleep, wet weather,
grumpy tired family.
A joy to be near!

Ben didn't sleep that well, it was perhaps inevitable after the excitement of yesterday and also with his birthday coming so close after Christmas he sometimes gets a bit down that all the fun is gone and there's nothing more to look forward to.  We always plan his birthday celebration to be the week after his birthday so that he has something to look ahead to.. but I guess in the moment it just feels a bit flat when the big day is done.  So he's been tired and that makes him jumpy and anxious.. and frankly it's tiring.  And we're already tired.  So we've all been a barrel of laughs!  We have done a lot of walking to keep us busy, we've made a beef casserole, which is smelling very lovely and we've done a bit more tidying and Mr KCNQ2Haiku has built a storage unit thingy (technical term).  The final walk of the day was by the river, which was as grey and wet as my enthusiasm!  Looking forward to a good night sleep :-D
