The sun impersonating the moon
We had the most lovely little snowfall yesterday evening and into the night. This morning all the trees had a layer of snow that just stuck around until it warmed up this afternoon.
As I walked out a little after 7 am to feed the birds I was admiring the subtle lightening of the sky. Then I realized that I could see the sun peering through the clouds, though it really looked like the moon. I did see the bright full moon last night so the sun really did not trick me ;-)
I got out for a walk down the old road later in the morning and it was so beautiful, the only way walking in a hushed snowy landscape can be. I walked down the hill to where Shepardson Brook (what fills our Long Pond that I blip a lot) curves around to the north of our property. The extra is looking at the brook.
