Junie in the greenhouse
One of the things I really dislike about having rabbits is having to trim their toenails. If you don't they will grow and twist and the quick grows out too so it's hard to get them short again. We learned this the hard way, unfortunately. With Junie and Lewis we clip every few months but they hate it and it's very stressful. Dan always holds them and I clip.
Today we got her out into the greenhouse. It was very pleasant in there as it was sunny and not above freezing outside. We got the clipping done and for the first time I accidentally cut part of her quick. I think on the back foot. Thank goodness she didn't scream. Rabbit screams are the worst! I didn't even know I had done it until I saw some blood on Dan's pants and he said it wasn't his. But she was fine. They love to chew off all the weeds, snip, snip, snip. And then move stuff around. There are a bunch of aster weeds with their seeds and the seeds kept raining down on her head. She wouldn't stay still for very long so this isn't the sharpest photo but it's cute. When I looked out at the green house a couple times I could see her cavorting around in there.
We will get Lewis out there some time this next week before the next big rain/snow storm comes on Friday. It's really nice to give them something interesting to do outside of their cages.
