This Ring and Balls sculpture overlooking Cockenzie Harbour is beside the John Muir Way between Prestonpans and Port Seton. It is close to the site of the former Cockenzie Power Station which was demolished in 2015 and decommissioned almost ten years ago when I described the sculpture which symbolised the machinery in the huge building. At present there are no confirmed plans for development of the vast site although various proposals have been announced including an electricity substation taking power from an offshore windfarm and a “nationally important climate change centre.”
