Mum and Baby Seal

Just back from another Seal Warden session. 

Today I was guarding this Mum and her pup, protecting them from members of the public who tried to walk past.  Pup is still being fed by Mum and the danger is, if she gets spooked by a loose dog or human she will abandon the pup and it will die. This pup was born on or around 20 Dec 22 so does not have much time left with Mum before she waddles away and leaves the pup to fend for itself. Pups are fed for about 3 weeks before this happens. 

It was quite busy today with visitors, though not as bad as New Years Day when the it felt  like the crowds were similar in size to those leaving Old Trafford after a football match! 

Today was a good day..
