Snow Clearing

When I got started this snow was just a smooth white field, about 90 cm deep. It took a lot of digging to get into the cellar, and that was just the start! Four or five hours of steady work, with a long pause for brunch and a change of clothes. Rainy sleet falling from the clouds, and lumps of slush dropping out of the trees wasn't the weather we would have wanted.
Plenty more digging and other jobs for tomorrow and the coming days, as usual when we have been away for nearly three weeks in winter.
I'll sleep well tonight, with that contented feeling of tired muscles.
