Swans in Galway Bay

We're having some difficulty adjusting to the Irish house purchasing system.  You'd think, since this is our third attempt, that we'd be used to the system.  But parts of it are so different from our experience in the UK.

After we got the survey report, we had a few questions for our vendor.  Mostly minor, but a couple of issues raised (some stiff hinges and loose handles on the windows, and a possible problem with the solar water heating) need to be addressed before we are prepared to sign the contract.  In the UK, these would be sent from our solicitor to her solicitor, and the answers would return by the same route.  So yesterday evening we sent the list to our solicitor, who this morning responded telling us to go via the Auctioneer (Irish term for the Estate Agent).

So this morning we spent some time re-formulating the questions slightly, before sending them off to the Auctioneer.

Then a snack lunch, before going into Oranmore, where we can buy our preferred brand of oat milk at Tesco.  Our choice of supermarket these days is Aldi or Lidl, but neither of these stock oat milk that is acceptable in my coffee.

After shopping, I made a brief foray to the shore.  I tried to get a photo with heads on all the swans, but it was too cold to hang around long, so you get mainly headless swans!

In extras, a van seen in the car park.

Since getting back, I've finished another patch for the Christmas sampler.  Should be finished soon, then it'll go away until we're settled, as the quilting will need more space than I have here.
