An ordinary life....

Doggy in the middle...

John and Norma popped in this morning on their way home from a wee overnight in a hotel in Kinross (hope I'm still having wee overnights in lovely hotels when I'm in my mid 80s.  Hell it would be nice to have that now!  lol)

This is the first chance we've had to see them since before Christmas as they were away over the festive period having another stay in a nice hotel, only that time it was Montrose.

They arrived just before David returned from taking Lola for her morning walk.  Lola of course was rather soggy and very impatient getting her housecoat on as she was desperate to see them both.  As you can see she didn't waste any time in making sure she was the centre of attention!  To our surprise and delight though, she didn't get over excited as she has been doing recently when people arrive, and there was no barking, no jumping about and no mooching for food as we had coffee.

David had taken her a slightly different walk this morning, which involved a large hill so we think she was too tired to get over excited.  So now he knows where to walk her when we have visitors.

Alan was over the moon to see his Grandpa and Norma.  They were both sorry to see how ill he looks (and that's him on the mend)  Norma gave him a cuddle and told him she was sorry he as feeling rubbish and that earned her a big smile.

After sitting with Alan for a while they headed home as a gas engineer was coming to check the boiler.  We've arranged for them to come back up next Tuesday for dinner and wee overnight.

Alan is definitely much brighter today.  He's been smiling and there was a laugh at one point.  He's also been much more vocal (never a good sign when he's quiet) and even though his voice sounds rather hoarse it's music to my ears :-))

I spent a little while in the studio working on my second slate roof tile.  When I finished yesterday there were two sections of the painting I wasn't happy with so decided to leave it and see how I felt about it today.  Still didn't like it so painted over the sections I didn't like and changed them completely.  That's what I love about acrylic paint, don't like a bit, paint over it!

We're now about to have our second meal from the Mindful Chef box.  Tonight we're having One pot Spanish paprika chicken with peppers.  David is cooking and it smells amazing!  Excited!  :-))

And get me blipping before midnight!!!  Woo hoo!
