Who's Your Poppy?
An OK bike ride today after having a weak stomach yesterday. Spring is in full bloom. The rapeseed has now shed all it's nice flowers and has a slight pungent smell passing by the fields. Bright poppies spring up along the road and always amid big tufts of grass. The road crews are just now making rounds to make the first cutting of the year. There are also intermingled some really pretty purple flowers which I haven't identified yet.
Time to just concentrate on peddling... I did the short 19 km ride today and was just 30' off from a best time. 30' is not much, but hard enough. I will probably push against that number for a while yet and then magically it will be shattered by a big margin as I reach the next level. Or so it has been over the last year getting back in shape on the bicycle.
Happy blipping everyone.
PS, I am curious for anybody's thoughts if this picture makes good photography? The picture straight out of the camera was quite boring and I have pushed the limits of what I think is good taste in post-processing. I quite like the soft focus of the first big poppy - focusing through to the next layer behind it - and a glimpse of the fields, power lines and farm behind it. This was actually a mistake as I was trying to focus on the first poppy and flower bud.
