Colorful view ...

It was a clear, windless day with temperatures in the low 50's F (12 C). We took a pleasant walk across the Avenue d'Italie to our local Monoprix, where we did a bit of shopping and bought a hand pencil sharpener (taille crayon in French).  Monoprix is a great store--it carries a wide range of items--housewares, clothes, books, office supplies, and it has an excellent grocery section.  It belongs to a chain of stores found throughout Paris.
