A jaunt in the country

It was a glorious morning with a bright blue sky so a  friend and l went out into Hertfordshire yesterday under the guise of buying some more bread flour from Welwyn mill.  The shop was open but the mill was closed as they were replacing one of the paddles but we did have a quick  wander around outside where we found the extra (for misbehaving indivuduals).
We then went over to Wheathampstead with the intention of following some of the trail there but by this time the weather had changed and it was cold and raining.
I am told the gentleman mentioned on the plaque in the main photo was of a large stature, hence removing the front window.

Today is very windy with rain forecast for most of the day, l was going down into town to see a photographic exhibition by an Australian photographer but have postponed until tomorrow; a day of leisure instead.
