Bird day butterfly ..

Well today the bird group met at Messingham Sand Quarries Nature Reserve. A lovely, lovely place, but yet again it was quite a windy day making small birds tricky to track down. We saw garden warblers, a willow tit, a marsh harrier, many waders, avocets, common terns, but sadly no cuckoo.

In the afternoon I swung by Far Ings but the marsh harrier was nowhere to be seen today.

A change from a birdy blip today - this is a male orange tip at Messingham ..
