Ready to Welcome a New Life

We had another chilly winter day. I was happy to spend most of it indoors. My first order of business was gathering the baby gifts from my sister and me so none were left home in my hurry to get to the shower on time. Hubby and I watched Brooklyn’s basketball game. She played well and her team won 57-16. We hurried home, I added more dressing to the potato salad and took off again. As usual, the food was yummy; our family all contributed. I grabbed that shot of Kim and Brooklyn standing in the doorway. Kim is 5’11. Brooklyn is almost as tall and only in 6th grade. Oh my. Lauren and Billy should be ready to welcome their daughter. Their previous home was small so Lauren couldn’t keep all of River’s infant gadgets. She is restocked for sure. Someone gave River a bear. He hugged it so lovingly. Hopefully, his new sis will fare as well. It was fun seeing the younger mothers with their babes and the older children playing together. My sister and I realized we are quickly becoming the oldest generation. Lauren’s Dad and brother dropped by to help get everything packed up and delivered so we took several shots to remember the occasion. Hubby and my BIL went to an adventure movie while we were out. We both were ready for naps when we got home. Glad we have leftovers. We’ll have a quiet night. Tomorrow is a Federal holiday so everyone will have a long weekend. Sending wishes for some extra fun and rest before returning to work. Thanks for visiting. “And I learned what is obvious to a child. That life is simply a collection of little lives, each lived one day at a time. That each day should be spent finding beauty in flowers and poetry and talking to animals. That a day spent with dreaming and sunsets and refreshing breezes cannot be bettered.”
