Monday: Twisted Hazel …

… branches with catkins against a chilly blue sky & kindling for starting up the log burner tonight.
The kindling started off as prunings of the straight stemmed hazel rootstock a few years ago which were used as pea sticks and supports for the beans - they are very flexible and last for a few years by which time they dry out completely and make excellent kindling :-))
A day for conserving energy as I have a bit of an outings tomorrow.
Today MrD reached a milestone birthday … and spent it … you’ve guessed … in the garage with his project motorbike …!
Last night the owls were hooting around midnight, I opened the bedroom window so as to hear them. This morning the wind has moved and a very chilly breeze coming in off the sea, windows closed again :-((
5pm and outside temperature has dropped to 0°C …
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
