17/365 Swan
We've had a beautiful day here today. Very frosty this morning and the temperature only reached 2 degrees through the day but wall to wall sunshine and not a single cloud to be seen!
Having had my opportunities to go anywhere somewhat reduced in number over the last ten days or so I went off to Compton Verney in search of a great crested grebe or two.
However, although I did see one on the main lake it unfortunately took off when a couple got too close to it for it's liking. At least it's back now and probably getting things ready for the arrival of it's mate so they can get on with their annual chick making .
The swan is one of two which were gliding along the main lake before going under the bridge into where the lake carries on alongside the Old Meadow picnic and play area. Unfortunately for the swans the water here was mostly frozen over with a thin sheet of ice.
Quite a few cars in the car park but not many walking the grounds so probably inside at the galleries and exhibitions, or just meeting up for lunch or coffee. A lovely place to do so.
Have a great evening everyone x
oops, PS the extra is of a duck on the lake but I don't know what sort it is.
