A walk around Connaught Water

This morning we took a very cold and icy walk around Connaught Water.  The  water levels of the lake were back up to normal and beyond and in many places frozen so the antics of the birds trying to walk on such slippery surfaces were very amusing.  The water fowl and song birds alike are very tame and clearly feeling very hungry too now that it's both extremely cold and the public have been warned off from feeding them due to avian flu being detected in the area.
In the end I decided to go for a robin shot rather than one of the water fowl: I haven't managed a shot for some time and this little chap came nearer to pose for this picture so I couldn't resist.
