Blue Moon

We pregnancy tested our Rising 2 year old heifers this morning, and it was good to confirm that they were all in calf, and due to start calving from August. Pregnancy testing our herd and the Rising 2 year olds, gives us an actuate indication as to how many cows we will be milking next season. It also allows us to cull those cows that are not in calf, so we are not spending money feeding them unnecessarily throughout winter.

This afternoon I took my camera and macro lens for a wee walk to find a suitable photo for today. As the temperature has been rather warm for this time of the year, the roses are still blooming, and new leaves on the rose bushes are starting to open. Very unseasonable, and the weather is certainly confusing the plants.

This rose is called 'Blue Moon', and its blooms are a lovely bluey/pink colour. They are beautiful, and give a different colour to the rose garden.
