Makes you laugh!
Seagulls are exocet missiles around people having food near picturesque places, so much so there are warnings. A change from the countryside today having a visit to and a walk around Whitehaven harbour. An enjoyable walk it was too. I came across this sign, erected since last there and had a chuckle. Seagulls were in evidence at the far end of the photo, a C2C start, flocking with swans around the metal marker for the long distance walk/cycle route. (There are a few starts for this around West Cumbria) The small stream that flows into the harbour has changed the colour from deep blue to brown. Evidence of all the heavy rain we have had recently. With this view you get sunshine on the hill that takes you to Kells where some people have views over the town or the sea.
The extra shows a Georgian building needing 'a lick of paint and empty like many of the shops are here, like towns throughout the country.
Remember in its heyday Whitehaven was a busy harbour exporting coal. Behind the harbour was a planned road system, very modern for the day. This furniture shop stands on one of the corners of that system. he sign says 'Something New' but not sure it means the shop or for the town.
