The village of Wijk aan Zee has about 2,175 inhabitants. As soon as the Tata Steel Chess Tournament starts, there are easily more chess enthusiasts and chess players in the village than residents. And the village prepares itself very well for this every year, including with parking measures and clear signs.

After a few days at home we drove back to Wijk aan Zee today. Tomorrow E will start his own tournament. There are 9 long games waiting for him in 10 days...
