Amaryllis

I bought myself an amaryllis bulb before Christmas and it has burst into flower. They really are miraculous plants, with this huge flower appearing from a dry crusty bulb. The excitement isn’t over yet because Mikki my d.I.l. gave me a bulb for a Christmas present and that is now sending up a shoot. For a change, this one will be red. More blips.
Spent a happy morning sorting out a pile of treasures. They were on the shelf of a drop front bureau. It has been the dumping place for numerous small items, too good to throw away but not suitable for display. Just so much clutter really. Many were little holiday souvenirs. Now they are destined for the charity shop.
