A moment in time, because shortly thereafter the village was entirely swallowed by an opaque and freezing fog. I can't currently see beyond my garden and I'm certainly not going out in it now.
We did get out for a bit of a daring clamber, earlier, up the frozen-over and heavily potholed Devils Lane, and I took this shot looking back down over the village.
The Cotswold Escarpment lies beyond, and to the right and just about to be fog-bound is McMurtry's Swinhay House which appeared in an episode of Sherlock a while back. On top is the Tyndall Monument.
You can't see my house because even with the leaves gone the right hand tree in the foreground does a grand job of hiding it. Almost as good a job as the fog...
