Jay walking
Weather a mixed bag today in Portugal. However the sun came out in the afternoon so time to work on our tans. We were just having our mid afternoon coffee when this lovely Jay came down to join us. Fortunately I had my birding lens in my bag (as one does) and was able to get a few shots. I was a bit conscious of whipping out such a large lens at the poolside with so many sunbathers around. I'm sure there are a few jokes to be had regarding the small family of birds that frequent our bird tables/feeders and topless sun bathers. Anyhow I digress. The Jay was as bold as brass and so close I had to struggle to frame him in the viewfinder which is rarely the case with photographing birds. Well, after a brief staring competition between us he wandered off to the pool for a drink but was quickly ushered away by a couple of Azore Winged Magpies. See yesterday's blip.
I have never been able to get a decent shot of a Jay back in the UK so I can now go home with a tan and a pic of a decent pic of a Jay.
