There was only a thin layer of ice left at Gosford and no sign of any of the birds which normally frequent the lake.  The snowdrops were not yet out but we did see a few wild snowdrops on a picnic walk along the coast before visiting the exhibition of the Scottish Nature Photography Awards at Waterston House in Aberlady.
