Pruning time for the roses.
The big rambling rose that grows in the centre of the driveways, has slowly been getting bigger and bigger. It's been spreading out over a small patch of grass and sends out branches that hang over the driveway, with it's nasty thorns.
The Other Half volunteered to prune it for me. This is him with his pruning gear. Within about another half hour there was even less of it left. Now to tidy up, and do some more precise pruning, and leave it to grow back. We gave another rose the same treatment last year, and it is already needing another pruning, but more of a tidy up this time, not the big chop it had got.
Both roses had a lot of dead wood in the middle, so they both really needed the pruning.
