Lockstepping
Today started with another early morning cold weather run and then on to the usual Sunday food shop. As a 'reward' for our running and food based retail activities we decided to treat ourselves to lunch at The Horseshoes.
We actually settled on having two starters with some fries and a pint apiece as the cost of a full Sunday lunch each and our drinks would have exceeded £50 - which is getting a bit steep for just one meal.
On the way back we decided to stop off at Teston Bridge Country Park for a Sunday afternoon stroll and get our images for the day.
Last time I'd been here I'd concentrated on the areas near the open pastures and in and around the medieval bridge that spans the River Medway. On this occasion I decided to focus on the area on or next to the locks.
I thought I would give myself a challenge of trying to take three different types of image. The main image is part of the main lock - I particularly like the yellow and red mechanisms that form part of the lock apparatus alongside those long tendril like shadows cast by the early afternoon sunshine - giving it quite an abstract feel.
The first extra is of a smaller adjacent lock and the last shot is of one of the small areas of flood plain next to the river which was still partly frozen over.
