The Race For Second Place

The finals of the Track Meet series today.

Last week one of R's 4x100m relay team mates fell before the race and broke her wrist. The team did really well, despite having a last-minute replacement and all being upset at the injury. They were looking forward to the final this week, but...disaster - they were disqualified for messing up one of the handovers.

Despite assurances that it happens to the best of them (in the Olympic final I seem to remember), they were distraught.

This is the individual 100m final. No amount of medals made up for the earlier upset.

It took a visit to Yogurtland before everyone was happy again. Thank goodness for Yogurtland!
