Holocaust Memorial Day 2023

As long as I live I will never forget our visit to the Treblinka death camp in the forests some fifty miles north of Warsaw. The autumn leaves falling silently from the trees where the gas chambers used to be is even harder to comprehend on a still peaceful autumn day.

F and a friend walking home from school this afternoon with their lives stretching ahead of them is a sight to relish.

A sight so cruelly denied to thousands of children who did not survive the Holocaust.
