inspiration all around us

By Marykathleen

Inspired by a hidden gem.

The homes in Windermere Terrace, built in 1856 to house the directors of the Kendal to Windermere railway, were among the first to be built by the Pattensons in the new village of Windermere. Viewed from the road, they are quite unremarkable, but sneak round to the front elevation and you will appreciate why it is a grade 2 listed building.
Beautifully restored, they are now luxury holiday lets. Perfect!
