Heavenly

Today M and I met up with my friends Natalie, Kate, Nome and MJ for a walk along our favourite stretch of Wirral beach from Hoylake to West Kirby and back, where I took this opportunity to revive my series of album cover tributes with this homage to the classic Echo And The Bunnymen album ‘Heaven Up Here’ (1981). Thanks very much to the fab five!

The original album cover shot https://theaudiophileman.com/echo-bunnymens-heaven/ was taken by Brian Griffin and you can see some pictures from that shoot at https://briangriffin.co.uk/photography/album-covers/echo-and-the-bunnymen/echo-and-the-bunnyme~94?scroll=left

Here’s ‘A Promise’ from the album https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vd3Uj2J-fzE

And here’s a reminder of the time I met Bunnymen guitarist, Will Sergeant www.blipfoto.com/entry/2903282369815383983

Sergeant was hugely influenced as a guitarist by the great Tom Verlaine of Television whose death, at 73, was announced yesterday. Television’s debut album ‘Marquee Moon’ (1977) was a record that was much revered at my secondary school and which still sounds amazing. Here’s ‘Venus’ from it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4f3d5ZdE4vY

Sorry for so many links!

Thank you SO much for all the recent birthday wishes. You’ve warmed my cockles and no mistake! Xx
