Porch Cabinet
The railings will be black so I decided to paint the cabinet black. The railing guy showed up this morning to measure (again). He came a couple of months ago, we discussed what we wanted and he measured everything. Mike told us last week that the railings ‘are being made’. I guess they are now that Mike called and told him the deck was ready for a railing asap.
He explained the process…something about drilling for the posts, something only he can do, cutting posts, bringing and assembling everything and then taking it away to be powder coated before bringing it back for the final installation. This will take about three weeks ‘if it doesn’t rain.’
In the meantime the black cabinet looks a bit stark and, well, black, but it’s hard to tell since all the furniture is lined up on the edge of the porch to keep Spike from falling off
We’re hoping to find some sort of metal to put on the top of the cabinet but we really don’t know quite how to go about it. Dana says she goes to Home Depot for inspiration and I told her that was one of the last places on earth I’d go for inspiration, but she gets things done, and I don’t so that says something….
Jim is having another brisket fest this evening in conjunction with some football game. I like the other people who will be there and am hoping that at least a few of them will have as little interest in the game as I do ;-)
