Respect

I spend a lot of time working with fellow responders, many in the blue light services. At a special event today in SFRS HQ I was again reminded just how much they put themselves in harm’s way, like our country’s NHS medical front liners.

I’m grateful my job doesn’t involve that sort of risk-taking, and I’m damned sure both those groups deserve better pay compensation. There should be a hierarchy of pay priorities, and the wealthy, over-privileged, self-entitled who do little more than suck money from society should be the first ones to cough up a fairer contribution.
