Wildlife Trusts

One of the good things about living in Britain is that every area has a Wildlife Trust.
These are membership organisations which own and develop nature reserves and which do tremendous work for Nature with professional staff and with hundreds of volunteers.

Today we were were collecting a new supply of pies from an artisan pie maker just north of Kendal. The bakery is just opposite the headquarters of the Cumbria Wildlife Trust so we had to pop in and say hello.

Being wildlife enthusiasts we are also members of the Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester Wildlife Trust. In past years we have been members of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.
To say nothing of RSPB, Butterfly Conservation, Plantlife and several more. Its quite an effort to read all the magazines !
